The package is available throughout the enitre season. We recommend starting at Dalen and hiking up to the Rui girls' old house, where you will find a spectacular view. This leg of the hike takes about 30-40 minutes.

From here you can continue up to Eidsborg, which will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from the Rui house. In Eidsborg you will be blessed with an even more impressive view over Lake Bandak og you can visit Eidsborg Stave Church. You can also pass by the West-Telemark Museum, if you like.

Enjoy your packed lunch here at Eidsborg before you go on a hike back to Dalen. It is a trip with some steep sections, but packed with culture, history and fantastic views. Take your time on the trip down.

If you look for it, you will find an exciting flora with elements of many heat-loving plants. Alternative route on the last part of the trip down towards the Valley - via the "Villaen" (this large, red building was the director's residence during the operation of the Molybdenum mines in the rock) to the municipal hall. From here you can walk down to Dalen Bryggje and back to the hotel along the waterfront. On the way, you should take in the wonderful viewpoints (signs) and enjoy the nostalgia at Rui.

Should you wish to replace the trip up to Rui and Eidsborg with another trip, we can recomment the "Helveteshylen" hike. This is moderately demanding and takes approx. 3 hours. Here you'll make a long loop, instead of walking the same way up and down again.

No matter which trip, we have arranged for you to have a relaxing day when you arrive and to take the hike on your second day. After breakfast and check-out, you can pick up a packed lunch at reception to take with you on the trip.
